Artist's Statement:

As a history major/teacher I always found the study of art integral to my understanding of people and places.  One day while wandering through a scrap yard I found myself responding to pieces of metal, wanting to make something with them because they seemed to be unfinished works of art waiting for something to happen. Metal and wood assemblages have lead me to use mosaic applications in my work. Using found objects I decorate rough pieces, often making them reusable, or just artful objects, or I use found objects in assemblage work making them into art.
